मोदी सरकार का बड़ा फैसला, आगामी जनगणना में होगी जातिगत गणना
नई दिल्ली। केंद्र की नरेंद्र मोदी सरकार ने जातिगत जनगणना को लेकर एक बड़ा और ऐतिहासिक फैसला लिया है। अब आगामी जनगणना में जातिगत जानकारी भी एकत्र की जाएगी। इस निर्णय को लेकर बुधबार को हुई कैबिनेट की बैठक के बाद औपचारिक घोषणा की गई। कैबिनेट बैठक के बाद केंद्रीय मंत्री अश्विनी वैष्णव ने प्रेस वार्ता में बताया, “राजनीतिक मामलों की कैबिनेट समिति ने आज निर्णय लिया है कि आगामी जनगणना में जातिगत गणना को शामिल किया जाएगा।
उन्होंने कहा कि कांग्रेस कर पूर्ववर्ती सरकारों ने हमेशा से ही जातिगत जनगणना का विरोध किया है। आजादी के बाद से ही जाति को जनगणना की किसी भी प्रक्रिया में शामिल नहीं किया गया। 2010 में तत्कालीन प्रधानमंत्री ने लोकसभा में आश्वासन दिया कि जातिगत जनगणना को कैबिनेट के सामने रखा जाएगा। कई मंत्री साथ बैठे और जातिगत जनगणना का प्रस्ताव रखा गया। इसके बावजूद भी कुछ नहीं किया गया। खानापूर्ति के लिए महज सर्वे कराकर मामले को छोड़ दिया गया।
